We’re getting things rolling for this year’s MiCorps Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Detection Blitz, and we couldn’t be more excited!

This statewide effort is all about getting folks out on the water and documenting what they see using iNaturalist, and we’d like to build it into an annual event! Whether you’re an experienced observer or just snapping a few photos while enjoying your local lakes and rivers, every observation helps build a clearer picture of what’s out there.

Right now, we’re in the process of setting up this event, where all of your observations will be collected during the June 29–July 6, 2025 event window. As we build it out, we’ll be sharing updates, resources, and tips to help you make the most of your time out on the water. Keep an eye out for announcements on our MiCorps social media platforms and feel free to spread the word- this is a low-effort, high-impact way to contribute to aquatic invasive species monitoring in Michigan!

More details coming soon! In the meantime, let us know if you have any questions or if your organization is interested in helping share this opportunity. Let’s see what we can find together!
