This presentation will discuss how natural lakes and artificial reservoirs exhibit important similarities, as well as a variety of distinct differences. Discussion of water quality characteristics in freshwater environments such as Secchi depth, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, and chlorophyll-a will be included to facilitate understanding of how these components work in tandem and reflect overall health and productivity of aquatic ecosystems. Presented by Marcella Domka of Michigan State University.
